Future Of Digital Photography

Innovations in Equipment Impact Digital Photography

Changes in technology have an effect on many different eras relative to these changes. Those who remember the introduction of digital photography know how far this technology has come and how it has impacted several different areas including that of cell phone features. One of the major changes in digital photography is that of cost and ease of use. In its early days it was not unusual to pay $300 or more for a digital camera that was rather difficult to use and would connect only to a special digital photo printer. Today one can sometimes find a fairly decent digital camera for around $150. With the introduction of photo quality printers, it is no longer necessary to have a special printer for your digital camera.

When digital cameras first became available many people could not afford or chose not to invest in special printers but preferred to remove their memory cards and take them to the local store for processing. Many stores at the time charged under $.30 a print with sales sometimes lowering the price to $.10 a print. Even those who had photo quality printers at home jumped at these prices since the price of using expensive printer ink would far exceed the price of paying for the professional printing. This was before it became easy to share photos using sources such PhotoBucket and other similar sites. The sharing of photographs online with family and friends has made it easier, cheaper and more convenient for everyone to share digital photographs.

Changes in technology in the 21st century make it cheaper and easier to take digital photographs including changes in cell phone technology that even include memory cards in some models. We can certainly expect to see many more changes over the years in both still and video photographer as technology continues to change and make digital photographer cheaper, more reliable and of higher quality. It is likely that within even the next five years the current digital photography technology will see some major improvements.

Slimline cameras have replaced the larger and bulkier ones that were first introduced, so we can only surmise that the future will show digital cameras no bigger than a cell phone. The biggest changes are likely to come within the area of video digital photography which has seen more innovations than that of still photography. Video technology is constantly changing especially relative to camera size and price.

Instead, you design the pages of your book on your computer and then the book is professionally printed in full color. The final result looks like a professional phoot book that you can buy in a bookstore. Photo books can have fabric or leather die cut covers or you can have a photo or image printed on to it, along with your own text in a font of your choice. Your photo book is professionally bound by gluing or sewing and will last for many, many years.

When you make your own photo book on your computer, you can get really creative with your pages! All photo book publisher will provide free software for you to make your own photo book. The provide a wide selection of background designs and frames and other embellishments, as well as plenty of premade page layouts that you can drop your photos in to. Then you just add a background, frames and any text that you want and your page is complete! For artistic types among you, you can create your own pages from scratch in photo editing or digital scrapbooking software and import them into your book.

For people who are too busy or who aren't confident of their artistic abilities, there are plenty of shortcuts that you can use to make your own photo book. Some software will allow you to pick a theme and group your photos into pages. It will then create the photo book automatically. You can always add text and make minor changes before you purchase the final book.

Photo books are a wonderful way for you to present your digital photo collection and to enjoy it with family and friends. When you make your own photo book, you are creating something that will bring joy to you and your family that you can enjoy together now and in the future. This is a wonderful way to keep your precious memories. Photo books are not expensive. You can make your own smallphoto book for about $10 or $30 for a 8.5 x 11 inch hardcover book.

The Importance Of A Digital Wedding Photography Tip

Fifteen years ago, digital wedding photography tips were unheard of because most photographers were loading rolls of film into their camera to take their beautiful wedding photographs. Today, digital cameras are some of the most used cameras in the world and many manufacturers are scrapping their film camera lines to focus on digital products. There are a few reasons why finding a digital wedding photography tip has become so important for wedding photography and the photographer may even find some outdoor wedding photography tips that they can suggest to their customers for a more unique shot.

Obtaining High Quality Digital Photographs

Many people are looking for a digital wedding photography tip to increase the quality of their digital wedding photographs. Digital cameras have the ability to take large numbers of photographs without wasting film because they use small memory cards to record all of the photographs that are taken by the photographer, so they are perfect for practicing the shots learned by the digital wedding photography tip. Depending on the size of the memory card and the quality of the photographs taken, hundreds of photographs can easily be stored on one memory card.

When practicing a digital wedding photography tip, remember that not all of the photographs taken have to be to see what they would look like in print. All digital cameras have a view screen that allows the photographer to see what the photograph looks like as soon as it has been taken and can be recalled at a later time if the photographer chooses. If the photographer does not like the photograph that was taken, erasing the image from the memory card just takes a push of the button.

Editing Photographs Easily

Many of the digital wedding photography tips that can be found will deal with how to edit the photographs that have been taken. Many of the people that typically practice digital wedding photography tips that they have learned on the internet will have a computer that has a memory card slot directly in the front of the computer so they can download their photographs directly onto the computer to be edited in numerous ways. There are a large number of computer programs that can be purchased or downloaded for free that can help a person with editing their digital wedding photographs with their computer.

There are many things that can be accomplished with a digital wedding photography tip through a good computer program for editing photography. It is very important for wedding photographs to be retouched, focused, or even altered slightly to create a beautiful photograph that captures the bride and groom's special day. Creating memorable photographs is the goal of every wedding photographer and using a digital wedding photography tip can make the photographs even better.

The Portable USA Digital Picture Frames to Consider

If you own a digital photo frame, either because you decided to buy one to replace your traditional frames, or because you got one as a gift, it’s probably a 5-inch, 7-inch, or 8-inch digital picture frame.  These are the popular sizes in digital frames that have been also affordable.  But like all consumer electronics, prices have steadily come down as quality has increased, and Portable USA has staked its future on a larger set of digital frames, 10-inch, 12-inch, and even a beautiful 15-inch frame.  These stunning digital LCD frames from Portable in larger sizes can be real eye catchers that light up a room.

The most popular digital picture frame from Portable is the Portable USA PU-10W 10-inch digital frame, which represents all the things that make this line of frames great.  The large 10.4” screen is brilliantly clear and beautiful.  It’s hard to realize how much larger a 10-inch frame is than a 7-inch frame until you actually see your pictures on the extra LCD real estate (it’s about 40% more screen area).  It looks beautiful displaying your personal digital pictures.  The frame is real wood in a cherry finish with a black matting which gives it a contemporary look, when combined with the crisp screen looks great in any room.  The PU-10W digital picture frame like many Portable USA frames has ports for 2 memory cards which are compatible with most memory types, and also has 128 MB of internal memory to store a good number of digital pictures directly on the frame.

Portable doesn’t stop with its PU-10W 10-inch frame, it’s only the beginning.  The Portable USA PU12-WB 12.1” takes it another step with an even larger crystal clear digital display frame.  Not only is this frame bigger but has twice as much memory – 256 MB, which generally means it can store about 1000 digital pictures – and has another popular feature with recent digital frames:  wireless.  While you can always transfer photos from your camera or computer to your Portable USA frame using memory cards, the Bluetooth wireless feature makes it even simpler.  With a wireless digital frame like the PU12-WB wireless digital frame, as now you can keep fresh content on your frame in real time from your PC or cell phone.  Constantly streaming pictures via Bluetooth on a large 12.1” wireless digital LCD frame makes for a great device and a real winner from Portable USA.

If size is what you are really after in your digital photo frame, then consider Portable’s largest digital frame, the 15” PU-15WB digital photo frame.  This one is more elegant than the others, a cherry wood frame with a more traditional style, and all the features mentioned with the previous models, just bigger!  The resolution of the screen is 1024 x 768, higher than smaller frames so the quality of the picture is outstanding even in the larger size.  You can take advantage of the various slide show features that come with the frame, and keep in mind these frames from Portable all display video and audio media as well (internal speakers), so custom slideshows work great.

Portable USA has also kept up with key features that other leaders in digital frames like Kodak and Smartparts have offered as well.  Many of the Portable USA frames come with remote controls, support direct connection to your PC via USB cable, and these frames all display in 4:3 aspect ratio so you don’t have to worry about black stripes on the edges of your pictures.  Viewing angles are great, which helps in larger rooms, and you either display your frame on a tabletop with a stand or easily hang it in either portrait or landscape.  Some even come with calendar and alarm functions.

So if you are shopping for a digital picture frame, there are many choices from a lot of names you probably recognize.  However you should consider Portable USA digital photo frames, especially if you are looking for a frame in a larger size.

Information on slr cameras, manual vs digital? canon vs nikon? help me please?

I'm starting to get serious about photography and i would really appreciate some advice from people who know slr cameras pretty well. i've been on like very website look from reviews to comparing cameras. i would like either a canon or a nikon, and i'm trying to decide between manual vs digital. i want to be able to capture pictures of basically anything, and i'm looking for really high quality. tops 1000$. please give me as much information as possible, i would appreciate it very much. thank you :)

By "manual" I'm assuming you mean film. There are lots of advantages in digital cameras as I'm sure you are aware, processing fees, printing only what you want printed, simply deleting those you don't want, all those things and many more.

All of the above camera suggestions are good and worth consideration.

If you've on many web sites you've already done lots of research and that's a good thing. Most of us regulars will recommend Canon or Nikon and also recommend buying all the camera you can afford.
Be especially careful about lens selection. A good lens is the most important single part of any dslr.

Can someone recommend a good book to help understand Photoshop Elements 6.0 for scrapbooking?

I gave my wife Photoshop for Christmas because she is a Scrapbooker and this is the recommended software, however there is no manual with the software and very little "help". I've found Photoshop for Dummies and Photoshop "missing manual", but neither one seem to meet my needs. They deal more with just digital photography rather than the layers and and other tools.

Right now it is "under construction" :( but as soon as it is up and going again, www.scrapbookmemories.com is the best thing i have found!! I watch the show, it is on PBS and then if there's something I want to get further instructions on i turn to the website!! i bought Photoshop Elements 6.0, because of that show, they use it on there!! I have learned some neat tricks from it!!

Digital Photography Now

1
digital photography now
What is a good digital camera for someone wanting to learn photography?

I've always loved taken pictures with my regular digital camera, but now I want to learn how to take somewhat professional pictures with a somewhat professional digital camera. I want something that isn't extremely expensive and that I can learn without too much difficulty. Any recommendations?

The Kodak EasyShare M853 combines an eight megapixel CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 3x optical zoom lens with a fairly standard 37 - 111mm equivalent focal range. For framing images, there's a 2.5" 154K pixel LCD display but like many current models, the M853 has no optical viewfinder. Images are stored on Secure Digital / MultiMediaCards, or in 16MB of internal memory.

The Kodak M853 has 17 scene modes to help beginners achieve the results they're looking for without the need to understand subtleties like shutter speeds, apertures and the like. Scene modes provided are: portrait, sports, landscape, children, night portrait, beach, snow, fireworks, self portrait, backlight, night landscape, text/document, manner/museum, flower, sunset, panorama, and candlelight. Additional shooting modes include auto, video, Favorites, digital IS, high ISO, and close-up.

The M853 determines exposures with a center-weighted TTL metering system, and offers 2.0EV of exposure compensation in 1/3EV increments. Five white balance settings are available including an auto mode, and ISO sensitivity is controlled automatically ranging from 80 to 800, or manually up to 1,250. The EasyShare M853 also offers a movie mode, capturing VGA (640x480) clips at 15 fps, or QVGA (320x240) clips at 30 fps, both with audio. Movies are encoded in QuickTime MPEG4 format.

Images and movies captured on the Kodak M853 are transferred to your computer over a USB 2.0 Full Speed connection. Power comes from a custom KLIC-7001 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery, and features in-camera charging via USB cable.

The Kodak EasyShare M853 ships August 2007 at a suggested list price of US$179, and is available in white, red, graphite, silver and espresso.

Suggestions for Improving Even the Best Digital Wedding Photography

Brides and grooms alike are now enlisting the expertise of professionals to get the best digital wedding photography for that special occasion. And why not? They would surely want to have the best photo taken so that the memories will be preserved as long as they live.

More and more people are now shifting to the use of digital cameras to take pictures of their wedding. One of the reasons for this is that the quality is better compared to the traditional camera. Another reason is that the photos can be stored not only in their hard-bound albums but also on albums online.

Today, people are more dependent on their computers than ever before. With computers, they can easily upload their wedding pictures and share them with family and friends all over the world. You do not have to rely on snail mails just to send your pictures. They are being sent and viewed the minute you have them in your computer.

This is one of the many advantages of digital photography. If taken properly, you are assured that you and you partner will never regret having used digital photography for your wedding pictures.

Below are some of the tips to get the best digital photography for your wedding.

1. Choose the right background.

Photos can really look great once they are shot with the perfect background. You can use the decorations in the church and in the reception areas as a back draft for your photos. Be sure to fix some scattered decorations so that they will appear simply perfect on photos.

Always remind the photographer to check if the view is good when taking pictures. It does not mean that you have to stand on the same corner or place. The best photographer is able to make even the simplest of background look great on photo if it is taken in the right angle.

2.  Look out for any kinds of glass.

Glasses tend to cause reflections in photos. May it be an eyeglass, window or wine glasses.  One way or another, they will cause a reflection or brightness to reflect back on the camera it is included in the picture.

To avoid this, the position of the camera can be altered so that it will not directly hit the glass. The photo can be taken sideways or downwards but never on eye level.

3. The perfect timing.

Persons being photographed should not always be looking at the camera. And they do not have to be smiling at the lens too.

One way of doing it is to wait for the right moment so that you can have a candid shot at them. You will see that catching persons on film when they are in their candid state is much better than having them wearing a fixed expression. Candid moments make photos look real and natural.
4. Review each photo.

To maximize the memory that your digital camera has, it is best to review every shot taken. There might be duplicates that can be removed so that you can free more space for a different shot.

You will probably want the best and the maximum number of digital wedding photography shots so you need to make the most of the capacity of the digital camera.

The best wedding photography is made even better now with digital cameras. This is one thing that you definitely should have on your special day.

All About Digital Photography

all about digital photography

Learn Digital Photography - About Digital Photography

Digital photography has change so much over the years and you can easily see the difference even when you are not a professional photographer. It seems like just a couple of years ago when you were using film camera instead of the 10.0 megapixels digital camera today. By the way, digital photography is not limited to cameras only. Take a look at cell phones and camcorders. They are capable of taking pictures and these gadgets were never heard of a few years ago.

The widespread of digital photography over these mediums has certainly promoted the popularity of digital photography. You just aim the camera at your subject, press the shutter button, look at the picture and decide to keep or delete the picture base on your preference on the picture. It seems easy. Doesn't it?

However, some photographers complaint that this kind of photography practice has demoted the true value of the art. They claim that photography is supposed to be an art which you have to be serious in. You ought to carefully frame the shot, decide on the angle and light and challenge your photography skills instead of simply taking the picture and deleting it when the picture doesn't feel right. It is utterly unacceptable that you rely heavily on photo editing software to make the pictures look better.

Now, does the improved technology in digital photography help you to be lazy or not is a debate. Because there are arguments that digital photography has provided great extend of flexibility where photographer can be free from carrying various ISO films and it is cost effective where the photographer can simply delete the unfavorable picture instead of wasting a frame on film.

Many photographers also believe that they can produce better photographs with digital photography because they can look at the photos immediately and decide what to do with the faulty photos. Imagine you took a group picture on a birthday party only to find out that the birthday stars had shut their eyes during the photo shoot. Now, that definitely spoiled the mood.

However, you can prevent that with digital photography. You can review the picture you took and decide to let the group off when the picture is good. And for the so called defective picture, you can edit it with photo editing software into a candid picture and you just turn something unfavorable into something funny.

Still, that doesn't mean that you can take advantage on digital photography and ignore the proper skill to get the ideal picture. Imagine that you are developing a career in digital photography. Is that the attitude of the professional photographers to trial and error their pictures before submitting them to the client?

After much talk about digital photography, it is with hope that you understand that film and digital photography do have their pros and cons. You can still see die hard film photography fan out there even though the method is said to be obsolete and as beautiful as digital photography may seems, there are still rooms to improve on this digital method.
