in digital photography '' aperture'' stands for .....?

i came to know that aperture means ''an adjustable opening in optical instruments [digital camera] that limits the amount of light passing through lens ok.....myself trying to learn and know tips and teqniques of photography
so while reading books on photography i came across the word aperture and the configuration stated such as below
camera... xyz
film............ xyz
aperture.... f/11
shutter speed.... 1/125sec
so every time a see a pic aperture varies each time sometimes f/4 sometimes f/8
and so please help me out by telling what does f stands for and how to configure it and how to adjust it for a best picture to get

The 'f' in f11 or f/11 is a reference to the focal length of the lens you are using. A f/1 lens would have an aperture diameter the same size as the focal length of the camera, an f/2 lens 1/2 the focal length, etc.

The reason that this relative value is used, is that this ratio represents the same light collecting power for a lens whether it has a short, medium or long focal length. So f11 on a long focal length lens has the same effect as f11 on a short lens.

The Benefits Of Digital Photography

Digital photography is one of the best innovations in a long time. It allows for photography freedom as well as eliminating the fear of making a mistake. It also helps to create more time for the photographer who is in a time crunch. Since the person who is using the camera is experiencing so many different advantages and so many more freedoms, it is no surprise that there are more people wanting to take pictures.

With the ability to take and edit your own photos with a simple camera and a computer almost anyone can be an amateur photographer and feel good about the pictures that they are taking. With it so easy if you have the right type of printer to be able to even print up your own pictures it is no wonder so many memories are being preserved today, even if it not on film but in a digital memory card. It is becoming more cost effective and time conscious to use digital photography as well. Since you will not need to go and have the film developed and in some retailers you can even print up your own pictures while sitting in a kiosk why you would ever send film in for processing again.

Not only that, you will never have to deal with film or any of the issues that come with it again. Things such as overexposure or the film failing to advance will never happen again. You will also never need to look into running out of film or needing to change rolls in the middle of a shoot again. With many memory cards able to hold hundreds of pictures at one time it is easy to see why so many people have switched to digital. Not only is the use of digital cameras extremely beneficial to the amateur but to the professional as well. This is because they are able to more easily meet deadlines especially those in the media and to be able to provide current pictures for newspapers and magazines.

Use of digital photography also allows for easier editing and altering of the pictures to fit the needs of the photographers whether it is for their job or for pleasure. Use of digital photography makes life easier on all ends and for all types. Consider how you could use it to help you preserve your memories and life .

Digital Photography Ebook - Master Photography and Earn

Digital photography ebooks are what any photographer should collect. For they become such a great cheap and easy resource for anything and everything about photography. For those who want to skip the article may straight away jump to my recommended collection of books and services. This digital domain has revolutionized the way we view our pictures and the way we are able to capture the most breathtaking images.

We all have actually seen this domain grown in front of our eyes. In fact it actually is one of the late 20th century s most innovative technologies. Digital photography is a completely different kind of photography, because the photographer can finally see beforehand what the film sees.

The craze and the rapid evolution of digital photography is here and here to stay.

First of all, let me clear the basic myth that digital photography makes photography easier; technology can never precede vision of human beings. If that was to be so, everyone of us with a camera tucked on our shoulder could become great photographers overnight. And this is where it is differnt because, basically, the argument is that digital photography is better because you don't have to wait.

For many of us, the biggest advantage of digital photography is that it eliminates the need for processing of pictures. Almost all of the cost of digital photography is capital cost, meaning that the cost is for the equipment needed to store and copy the images. And and once they are all purchased it requires literally no further expense. Lastly, digital photography is the future, there's no way to beat that, and the sooner you begin take it up, the better equipped you'll be to evaluate and handle newer technologies as they arrive. After all, digital photography is just another tool of modernization showing the advancement of photography in an ever-changing world.

For me, digital photography is also the greatest passion ever and the best things captured forever in time and space.
