where can i find a good site with a lot of information on the history of photography without buying a book?
history of fashion photography
how it has impacted the world
only fashion photography please
Try looking at the alternative photography WWW site listed below. While oriented to people taking art photos with antiquated chemical processes, it lists some books you should be able to get through inter-library loan at your local public or university library. Also look at the site's links.
Search on "Louis Daguerre", "Niepce heliograph bitumen", and "Herschel cyanotype".
There's a Time-life book titled "Mathew Brady and his World". Lot of Civil War and later photos, quite interesting if you're interested in old fashions. Again that can be had through inter-library loan if your local library doesn't have it on the shelf.
Time-Life published quite a few fashion photography books over the years. Again look at your library.
