1 Where is the best place to take photography lessons?
A perfect place in SF where I can get lessons on artistic and close up pictures of flowers (all the way inside a flower!). A professional group that works with D90 Nikon Cameras.

ive just recently started getting into photography. i have a sony a230 camera, i think its pretty entry level. anyway, i wanted to get as much knowledge, experience and background as i could in photography this summer. i want to dedicate this whole summer to learning and practicing and i just wanted to if i should take photography lessons, get tips online, or read books? what would be the best way? thankss
It depends on you, and what style of learning you are most comfortable with. I feel taking a class is always a good start. Also perhaps joining a local group or camera club to get mentoring and feedback.
There are oodles of online tutorials and sites to help you begin to learn the basics of exposure and composition. Even if you do not have an adjustable camera, learning about shutter speed, aperture and ISO will improve your skill. Good composition will improve even the most simple snapshot. Visit the library for a book on basic photography and composition. Read your camera manual to get the best from it. Know how to access the settings, modes and features. How to choose ISO, how to turn the flash on and off, when to use the closeup mode. These things will give you more control over your picture.
It is possible to become quite skilled without formal lessons. It depends on you and how much work and effort you are willing and able to expend.
