Digital Media Enhances Image Processing
Image processing is used to convert an image signal into a physical image. The image can be digital or analog. The actual image is an actual physical image or the characteristics of an image. There are several types of this processing but most common image processing is photography. Now photography is a common for every person. In this process an image is captured using a camera to create a digital or analog image. The image is processed suing the appropriate technology based on the input source type.
In digital photography, the image is stored in a computer file. You can make beautiful image using photographic software to generate an actual image. You can produce new colors, shading and nuances and all captured at the time the photograph is taken the software into an image.
If you are creating images using analog photography, the image is burned into film using a chemical reaction triggered by control exposure to light. The image is processed in darkness, using special chemicals to create the actual image. Today, Image processing is decreasing in popularity due to the advent of digital photography, which requires less effort and special training to produce images.
In addition to photography, there are a wide range of other image processing operations. It is era of digital imaging. In the field of digital imagining has created a whole range of new application and tools. You can modify everything such as face recognition software; medical processing and remote sensing. These are only possible due to the development of digital image processing. You can enhance and correct images suing specialized computer programs. Several types of computer programs can apply algorithms to the actual data and are able to reduce signal distortion, clarity fuzzy images and add light to an underexposed image.
Image processing techniques were introduced in 20th century and first time developed in 1960 through the collaboration of a wide range of scientist and academics. The exclusive objective of their works was to develop medical imaging, character recognition and high quality images at the microscopic level. During this period, equipment and processing costs were very high. The financial restrictions brought a serious impact on the depth and breadth of technology development that could be done.
The science and technology has developed and gradually computing equipment cost had dropped. This significantly made digital image processing more realistic. A number of film and software companies invested significant funds into the development and enhancement of image processing, creating a new industry.
