Digital Photography Review

Is the Polaroid a530 a good digital camera for a photography class?

I'm taking a beginner's Digital Photography class in school this year, so I asked my dad to buy a camera. He went to Target and bought me a Polaroid a530. I was wondering if this camera's good enough for my class.
I'm going to be buying a 2GB SD card to hold my pictures. Every week I have to take a minimum of 24 pictures, then bring them to school and edit them on Photoshop. My teacher recommends that the pictures are taken at the highest resolution possible, although he said that point-and-shoot cameras are fine since this is an introduction course.

Here are the specs: http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/polaroid-a530-digital-camera/4507-6501_7-33611231.html

Should be fine. I took that digital photo class last year and the quality of the photos you take doesn't matter too much, because you'll be Photoshopping all of them anyway. The class is more of learning basic Photoshop as opposed to actually learning to become a better photographer, so you don't need such crisp photos anyway. If they're a little noisy, that can be fixed in Photoshop.

Have fun.
