Question for people in photography? Any help?
I just started to take pictures with the digital camera. Just some scenery footage, building, trees, ponds and what not. I'm really liking it.
I was thinking of submitting some of my pictures to a magazine or something like that. Make a little money possibly.
So I was wondering where the best places to send amateur pictures? Magazines or whatever
To CK,
Thanks! The first 2 were pretty harsh. MAN! I was just thinking if I can make some money off my pictures that would be great. I wasn't really expecting to be making millions or anything like that.
WAS JUST WONDERING FOLKS!
Thanks again!
Okay....unnecessarily harsh, but the previous two answers were right. The market for even professional photography has been tight lately (always has been), so the odds of making any money as a beginner are very slim. If you're set on giving sales a shot, try first with local or regional magazines as they're more likely to print reader submissions. Just be aware, though, that most don't pay for submissions. This would be for exposure, only.
If you're looking at some payback for your photographic efforts, you could always make those photos into calendars for holiday gifts, saving you both shopping time and money.
