Is digital photography good enough these days?

Can moderately priced digicams take pictures that can be used in magazine displays or similiar? By moderately priced, I mean hundreds of dollars rather than thousands including any periferals needed for professional work.

i think it is okay for market
but i think for Art, manual cameras sometimes r preferred
