Photography question: Does my camera have a 'macro' lens?
I have a digital camera & I need to take close-up photos of clothes for work. The camera is not very good. What would be a good camera & what should I look for. Apparently I should get a 'macro' lens for close-ups but would my camera already have this & I haven't realised it! Any ideas of a good camera for a cheap price??
Excellent BK, just the answer I was looking for. Now I know what that 'flower' switch is for. Many thanks.
You don't need a macro lens for taking close-ups of clothes. Perhaps all you need to do is switch your camera on to it's close up setting, so that it can focus on things near by. Some point and shoot cameras have a little button or switch, sometimes a flower icon for close-up, and a mountain icon for distance shots.
Macro lenses are usually used for taking photographs of very small objects, very close-up. Only cameras with removable lenses can be fitted with a macro lens. The macro lens replaces the lens on the camera completely, although some point and shoots, and other cameras, do have macro settings too.
