How do I decide what I want to do with my future? I have many hobbies but no focus for my future career.?
I am in my late 20s. I have finished an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies (media) and work in sales/field marketing now for a software company. I am a crafty + arts person, and am feeling a lack of passion in my current role. I have an enjoyment in the following hobbies: media studies, photography, cake decorating, cultural studies, children/animals, anything outdoors, advertising/marketing psychology and I also love being in social situations. How do I limit down the many hobbies I enjoy to only 1 or so and focus on it?
There seem to be so many career paths that I can take, not to mention starting my own business which is another option. Please offer any suggestions, books you'd suggest reading on future, soul searching and goals, websites to check out? I'd happily take any suggestions on how you may have conquered a similar "lost" feeling.
For an expert answer I suggest going to your local library and taking an aptitude test. Joblink also has good guidance counselors, Look up the JobLink office near you in a search engine.
For an unofficial answer, it sounds like you'd do well as a tour guide. That seems to tie in most of your likes in one job description.
