Is there any easy to learn, cheap photo software for image cut/paste/collage/panorama/montage?
Packages have seen for sale look over complicated, not very intuitive for simple cutting/pasting of images from one photo to another, stitching together to form panoramas etc. Is there a simple (maybe freeware?) alternative?

You should try GIMP. It's an open-sourced version of photoshop. You can download it from www.gimp.org. It's very powerful, but has a bit of a steep learning curve. The website has lots of documentation and the community is very helpful, though.
