How can I take photography pictures with a digital camera like this?

I have a Kodak EasyShare C613 and for my photography class I need to take pictures like the ones below. How do I make it so my pictures come out with all the lines from the cars lights? Someone PLEASE help me!

Unfortunately, with your camera its virtually impossible to take the kinds of pictures you linked us to. The camera must be used in Manual Mode so you can set the shutter speed and f-stop. From reading the Specifications for your camera I did not see any such provision.

To take those types of pictures will require an upgrade in your equipment. A Canon G9 would work but a DSLR would be even better.
