How to layer in digital photography?

Is there a website that could explain how to do this? I would like to add/remove people from photos, or change the background, but I have no idea how. I'm a little new to it, and the directions that came with the software is a little confusing (the book is over 1,000 pages). I use "photo impact pro, version 11". Is there a website that could simply how it is done?

How do I get people to join my Digital Photography forum?

Is there any type of free advertising that is available, or any other way to get people to become members?

Provide great content, ask people to cross-link with you, make sure the site is listed in any and all available directories, hang out on Flickr and see who else is into it, and create a .sig file that mentions it so that every email you send has a little bit of advertising at the bottom.
