photoshop tutorials you would find helpful?

What type of tutorials would you find most helpful for beginners. I'm making a bunch and looking for suggestions that you would like to see or think others would find helpful. Here are the ones I've already completed plus I have one on eyes compiling now.

Looking more for photography ideas than text or digital art.

How about the very basics (like cropping, levels, conversion to BW, etc.) You know the stuff that we used to do in the chem darkroom.

Good luck...

Should I take a Digital Art course?

This summer I'm going to take a class at a local community college and I was thinking of taking digital art. However, I also know that there are a ton of tutorials and books I could buy about digital art, so my question is, should I teach myself or spend money and take the class? I can't really draw that well, but I'm really creative and have many ideas that I would like to put together digitally. I also really like photography so learning photoshop would be really beneficial.

Take the course. Yes, you can learn on your own (and there is nothing wrong with teaching yourself what you can on your own), but the big reason for taking a course is to get feedback from your instructor and from other students about how well your art is working. A program like Photoshop is so broad and deep that some people get lost in the technical that they forget to also make strong images OR they get so caught up in the creative potential of the program that they are not seeing that their composites are sloppy or pixelated. Critiques are the number one reason to take any kind of art course, especially a digital art course. I highly recommend you take at least one.
