Panoramic Photography – Grasping the Image at a Wide-ranging Scale

The majority of photographic shots let us see no more than a slice of the general picture. However, panoramic photography allows us to control a more broad-spectrum sight. The effect becomes possible owing to a technique of spinning around in a 360-degree loop while taking shots from only one position in space out to the adjacent setting. Nowadays, it is possible to execute panoramic photography just by buying the right camera and by setting it to do it.

On the other hand, if one does not want to pay a fortune on such a camera, it is possible for them to execute panoramic photography by capturing several images that surround a centre of rotary motion with almost any digital camera. Owing to software development, one can then sew the images up together and, thus, obtain the panoramic representation.

For fewer images to sew up together, the easiest way of completing the entire process is by mounting the camera on the level – i.e. horizontally – in landscape mode. One will be able to cover the scene shot with a smaller number of images in this manner. On the other hand, when it comes to capturing scenes in panoramic photography, which also include vertical parts, the mode used is portrait and the mounting of the camera takes place perpendicularly – i.e. vertically.

Irrespective of the methods used for the orientation of the camera and for the images brought together to build the scene up, panoramas have a very useful application in the form of the panoramic tour. Such a virtual tour can make things a lot easier for businesses, each time that they try to reach new customers. Whether we are talking about products, services, events or real estate deals, a panoramic tour can offer the potential customer a comprehensive view of what interests him or her.

One can place a panoramic photo over the Internet in a manner much related to that of uploading any other type of photo. However, we will make sure that we have uploaded your panoramic photo in such a manner that all plug-ins should be able to pan and zoom it. This will provide the interactive look to your panoramic tour.

Generally, the feature used to enable this interactive level of the panoramic tour is a QTVR. This configuration is a QuickTime VR configuration, i.e. the format in which one has to save the panoramic photo in order to make it available virtually. QTVR then must be supported by the plug-in with which tries to access the virtual tour. Generally, the installation of QTVR is supported by any plug-in or browser, so it should not be a problem.

QuickTime VR then makes it possible for the one who is taking the panoramic tour to rotate in the setting, and even to look up or down, depending on the movement that he or she wants to make in this panoramic environment. Does it sound too complicated to complete successfully? It is not at all like that, as one does not need meticulous IT skills to upload an image that will then become a panorama. Enjoy the experience of having your current and potential customers dive into such levels of interactivity with your offer. You will see its effects soon after they have come out of the panorama.

About the Author

With panoramic photography, one can get the picture at a more comprehensive scale. By rotating in your panoramic tour, customers will feel closer to the objects displayed and, thus, more motivated to act as you want them to act – i.e. in the direction of closing the transaction with you.

Nokia Unveils The New E7 Handset

The smartphone sector of the mobile phone market is packed full of attractive models, thus the new Nokia E7 needs to stand out from the crowd. And with excellent screen technology and a physical keypad, the handset looks set to do so and become a huge success at the same time.

Putting the obvious attractions of the E7 to one side, the phone is also very well equipped in the multi media department. The highlight of this area is the phones excellent video capture facility. This offers users the oppurtunity to record footage if 720P resolotution, which is the minumum required to be classed as high definition. The film is recorded at a frame rate of 25 per second and the handset also offers settings for adjusting the colour tone and white balance. A video light ensures that you are not restricted by the lighting conditions around you. A second front facing VGA camera is present to allow for video calling. Still photography results are pleasing thanks to an 8 mega pixel resolution coupled with a high quality dual LED flash. A zoom facility allows you to get a little closer to your subject and facial recognition software focuses on faces within your frame. 16GB of internal memory is included on the phone, ample storage for a variety of different files, including audio. Music wise the 3.5mm stereo jack allows a range of headphones to be used with the E7.

Style wise, the Nokia E7 wins marks for its simplicity, whilst maintaining a very fashionable and sleek design. Around the edges of the chassis you can find a variety of ports and buttons that include an HDMI, micro USB, camera button and the 3.5 stereo jack. A real trump card of the E7 is its physical keypad, which is located neatly behind the phones screen. Upon using the device, the first thing that strikes you about this mechanism is just how well built it feels, often a problem on many slider styled devices. The screen slides upwards when the handset is in the landscape position, and when fully deployed the screen is left at a slight angle which makes it ideal for sitting on a flat surface. Internally, the E7 uses the latest version of the reliable Symbian operating system, which adds more customisable options on the homescreen as well as multiple integration options with the impressive Ovi Store. Nokia have unveiled a real gem with the new E7 handset. A combination of superb software and impressive hardware result in a phone that will appeal to both the message happy teenager and the traditional business user.

The Nokia E7 is coming soon and the Nokia N8 is available now.

Where would one find a digital camera for stereo 3-d photography?

Something for point and shoot that takes both right and left eye images silmulteaneously. do they even make such things?

I was wondering if anyone would ever ask about this. As for Film its a very interesting area of Photography, and one I enjoy, esp from my fellow PSA members when I get to see the exhibits.

As of now there are none, I think because the demand for such a camera is very very limited. I suggest you write to the camera makers, like Canon, Sony, Fuji, etc and suggest it to them, and then point them to the film exhibits on this fun area of photography.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Take care and happy shooting.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV ready to charm photography enthusiasts

Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras just brought another baby to the world of photography gizmos and enthusiasts. The birth of Canon EOS 1D Mark IV is a delight to photographers as it digitally enables you to capture wonderful images with the use of its superb features. Just like its EOS brothers and sisters, it offers swift operation that can seize every random moment.

This 16.1 megapixel digital SLR camera has an APS-H CMOS sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 imaging processors; it captures full resolution images nonstop at a rate of 10 frames per second. This is a very ideal companion when out to document events that involve lots of fast-paced motion.

Focusing and capturing fast-moving subjects will be trouble-free because the newly-improved Area AF Sensor, including its 45 points which can be manually selected, will let you focus on any subject and capture it at the exact timing. This feature boasts 39 cross-type AF points with f/2.8 support.

It also allows video coverage in HD quality. The advanced noise-reduction system decreases the unnecessary background noise that can affect the clarity of coverage. This ISO 100-12,800 can also obtain vivid video images no matter what lighting condition takes place'from bright to dim.

Video recording is not only HD quality but also competitive. The recording area measures up to 27.9mm x 15.7mm, almost the same as that of a Super 35 motion picture film which measures 24.89 x 18.65mm. EOS 1D Mark IV is manually controlled for exposure adjustment; it enables you to shoot as if you are doing still photography'more control, more creativity.

A video can be adjusted from a 640x480 resolution to a large 1920x1080. Each video clip has a size capacity of 4GB. Although the output is produced and saved as a MOV file type, it is viewable in Full HD quality in HDMI output. For simple recording, the built-in microphone is entirely reliable to record sound clips in clear quality. On the other hand, stereo sound is handled by the self-powered microphone that functions in the same efficient manner as the built-in microphone is capable of.

In terms of sturdiness, EOS 1D Mark IV will never disappoint you with its magnesium alloy body construction. It also has 300,000 cycles of shutter durability. No worries at all especially when you have tested this smart tool's resistance to dust and weather.

The lenses are sold separately. EOS 1D Mark IV also captures images to CF Card Type I and II, SD/SDHC (not included).
