Photography - Is a car a still life image?

No, a car is something you drive.

Now, if you took a PHOTOGRAPH of a car, that could be considered a still life :)

UM, whomever told you that a still life is a photo of things that were once alive, is full of crap.

Still life images typically are done in a studio, with carefully placed lighting, where things are carefully arranged into an artful format.....eg...maybe a nice flower arrangement, or a series of colorful bottles or antiques or something .....


A still life is not a field image where you are naturally taking a picture of a landscape scene. A still life is a constructed image where you control the placement of objects.

So if you park your car on the edge of a seaside cliff, hoping to get just the right lighting, etc....its more of a still life than a landscape image.
