help with purchasing a digtal camera?

I am a phtographer/artist illustrator aspirant, mostly guided torwards illustration but would like to experiment with photography as well. what digital amera would you recomend me to buy??
one that is cheap but good? about $150 (i know they are expensive and i'm crazy for typing 150$ but i'm low on cash) around($200 or less) also recomend goos ones for future refference

Yes, you can get a good digital camera for under $200. As previously posted, canon, nikon and fuji sell some excellent cameras. the canons will be a little pricier, but they are great quality. If you want the most features for the money one of the others will probably be best. The exact camera that is best for you is going to require you to do some research, because they all have different features and only you will know what is most important.

Tons of great information and reviews on nearly every camera you might run across from the major manufacturers. On this page, most of the recommended entry level and 4 MP cameras will be under $200. Also some of the 5 MP will too. And check into the Panasonic DMC-LZ5. It's right around $200 at the lowest priced online vendors and it's 6MP. It's a sweet camera with a 6x zoom and a 2.5 inch screen.
