Professional Photography Software Programs

Does anyone know where i can download a free version of a professional photography edit software on PC?

I am becoming rapidly interested in photography generally and specifically, among such things from Special occasions; like Proms, Weddings, Parties to Art, and Natural events. And i am trying to figure out more ways to make an image more fun, attractive, sexy and appealing to viewers, however the programmes i am using at the moment via PC are not so great and do not work like i would want them too, and the kind of effects; is a small list. And i am looking for a wider variety of effects. This is why i am wondering if there are better editting or Picture quality and such, programmes i can download for free, which would make more of an effort for my images i upload..

If you are going to be a pro, you will have to spend the money on the equipment you need ... that not only includes professional level cameras and lenses, but the necessary accessories like lighting and yes Photoshop CS3 at a minimum. Many of us use other programs like Kodak GEM, Dx0, Photo Mechanic and others with licenses for both our desktop and notebook computers.

Nothing is 'free' in the photo biz. You just have to take those investments and costs into account when you put together your "price list" Remember to include replacing your camera body every 18 months and upgrading all your photo related programs as well.
