What kind of Digital Camera for amateur photographer?
I am about to be a Senior in highschool taking a photography class and am thinking of getting my own digital camera.
I dont know much about digital photography but have started reading books and researching but i want to know what some people would recommend I start with. I wont spend more than a few hundred dollars because I have a job but am swaving most money for college.
I want a camera that can take good quality pictures mostly in outside weather as i plan on focusing on landscape photography for a good price for a beginner.
I dont want anything too beginnerish (?) because I will be practicing digital photography even after i graduate and will be going to college in hawaii so obviously i want to have a good outside camera.
**good quality is my top priority but other goods would be cool aslong as its not complex and expensive
Be sure to go with Canon or Nikon. Though the prices may be quite high, it'll all be worth it. I myself prefer the Canon T1i. I'm not sure if it's built for rugged conditions and outdoorsiness, but generally speaking, it's a good camera. It's fairly inexpensive for a DSLR ($700-800; prices dropped since the Canon T2i came out) but it's nothing to laugh at if you're on a budget.
TBH, I don't have any experience with Nikon, but some people say it is better than Canon. Canon is obviously more popular, but it is also cheaper. A 12.1mp Nikon could be the same price as a 15.1mp Canon.
Good luck!
