Digital Camera Course

I'm looking for a good digital camera, any suggestions?

I don't know too much about digital cameras but of course I want something that takes great pictures and is not toooo expensive. I think the most i'm willing to pay is $250. Any suggestions on what brands are the best?

I am a photographer and I mainly use SLR cameras, but I also use point and shoot cameras. I really like Sony DSC-H9 camera. It has 8 Mega Pixels and a lot of pro features. Image quality is outstanding! It is a little over your budget but you can find it a little over $250 on Ebay. Here's one for you:

I also like Canon Powershot S5, but it is more expensive than the sony.
