Help me understand meanings of: SOFTWARE, OPERATING SYSTEM, PROGRAMME, ETC?
1-Someone please help me learn from the very basics the meaning in a (layman's language) computer terms such as: SOFTWARE, OPERATING SYSTEM, PROGRAMME, ETC....like which softwares are commonly applied where???, and anything you can kindly make me pick up easily.
2-Also, teach me their applications how they are applied, what they really do +++.
3-I wanna soon start using many electronics like for cutting CDs, showing SLIDE Pictures, DIGITAL Photography etc, so i need to master that computer language and basic knowledge, please.....Thanks guys.
An OS is the main software which takes control of your computer hardware after the BIOS completes POST. Applications are software designed for specific needs and run under a specific environment provided by the OS or by a virtual machine runing on the OS.
Get a few books on elementory computer science if you're really serious about learning computers, as it's almost impossible to master a subject thru yahoo answers alone.. Happy computing.
