Canon 350D installation? won't install without disk? no disk :(?

Okay so I bought a second hand Canon 350D and it is amazing, nothing wrong with it;
only problem I have so far is I took photos, and my CF card is full.
I tried to transfer the photos to the computer and it told me the installation could not proceed because I didn't have a driver. So I search through the "solutions" (Windows Vista BTW) and I hyperlinked to a Canon website where I was able to download the right Driver for the 350D, but even yet it still won't work.

I really need some help with this; It's for a major piece and will be assessed in a two weeks.

I'm fairly educated with computers, haven't owned a digital SLR until recently and I want to know if I can install without the disk? Or should I look in a camera shop in the city - Or Ebay?

PLEASE help me :( My photography Teacher is an asshole and doesnt understand what I mean - He thinks the school computers are compatible - but they wouldn't be without the bloody disk!? Right?

My recommendation is a card reader - no software required. The reader will be seen by Windows as a drive. From the reader then simply copy / paste your files to the folder of your choice - wala!

I know, I have three different styles of cards and three different card readers and they all work just great. I haven't messed with camera software in a long time. The readers are available all over for little $$.
