Photography at concerts held in Singapore?

As years pass by, there's more restriction for photography during concerts in Singapore Indoor Stadium etc. What is the matter here? Concert goers and fans merely wanted to catch the glimpse of their idols and take photos for memory. This is not any illegal act. Why are we being stopped bring in cameras like DSLR? Even if you bring in normal digital camera where there is slight zoom in the lens, the urshers will approach you to tell you cannot use SLR, but in fact it is normal camera. Singers/artistes perform in so many countries and I personally attended concerts overseas, and never seen security or urshers stopping fans/people to take photos. I feel that Singapore has extremely strict restriction in regards to photography during concert. I hope to see there will be changes in the near future to allow concert goers to take photos more freely.

It all comes down to money and copyright and it's the same all over the world, although worse in some countries than others.

If the organisers or the artists themselves sell photographs, videos and CDs then you are encroaching on their livelyhood, sad it might be but that's the reason and I think it's unlikely to change.
