Tansee iPod Transfer 3.3 - Software review

I was devastated when my computer hard drive  crashed last year as I had scanned all my old family photos before emigrating to Oz from the UK, but I still thought that I would be able to retrieve them off my Ipod somehow. Computer experts and Apple employees have told me there is no way to transfer pictures from my Ipod so I was begining to think that my photos would be lost. A few weeks ago some people I met told me that there were programmes that I could download so I read some forums and decided on Tansee. Thank you Tansee for the easiest download and subsequent transfer of over 2000 photos from my Ipod. There does seem to be a slight loss in resolution in some of them but to have them back is fantastic and they are after all just my point and click pics, not professional ones.

When looking around for a solution to retrieve lost photos off my iPod, Tansee seemed to be the only way. Initially, the program appeared to not load. Just sitting there on my taskbar, but not showing up. This was very frustrating.

Although, I did find the problem. My iPod was already plugged in when I loaded the program. The program immediately attempts to load the photos from the iPod into the program. As I had 4000 photos this took a couple of hours. Through this whole time the program just appears to be hung, not providing any progress, or even showing the UI at all. Once loaded it sprung into life, and my photos were recovered.

So for those experiencing this problem, be patient.

Although this is an easy to use program, the UI needs to be fixed. It needs to show some sort of progress bar. Perhaps not be auto load, so at least the program displays before the photos are loaded. Furthermore, it should not freeze up and show nothing while loading photos. Most people wouldn't have the same patience to persist.

Otherwise, this is a great product, functionality wise I can't fault it, it's very easy to use, and recovered my photos beautifully.
